Integrating Sex and Sexuality in EFT Couples' Work with Drs Silvina Irwin and Lisa Blum

Have you experienced the dilemma of helping couples achieve greater emotional connection through EFT, and yet found that this does not always translate directly into greater sexual desire, contact and flexibility between the partners?

This workshop will present a frame for understanding that dilemma, and offer approaches for more fully integrating sexual concerns into our EFT work, with the goal of helping couples take new risks with each other so that they can share a more vibrant sexual connection.

Please join ACEFT along with Silvina Irwin, Ph.D. and Lisa Blum, PsyD. as they present a prelude to our Spring Master Class: Sex and Sexuality in EFT Couples Work. Drs. Irwin and Blum will be available for an open discussion and learning opportunity about sex and sexuality. As they share, we will get a taste of what’s to come in June!

Working with Addictions in EFT

Psychotherapy with couples is both multi-layered and complex, often challenging the most skilled of therapists.

In this fast-paced, technology-driven era that we live in, where true connection is often at a
premium, substance use has escalated to epidemic proportions. It is not uncommon for couple’s therapists to be confronted with the additional challenge of contending with a pernicious “third-party” that lurks within the shadows of distressed relationships: Addiction.

Although we have the superb modality, EFT, to help couples find their way to genuine, loving communion with one another,
addictions present very significant obstacles to effectively working with couples that seek our services.

In this two-day experiential training, we will explore specific, and necessary ways to tailor EFT skills and interventions in order to better address the impact that addiction has on the couple therapy process.

This interactive workshop e will create a safe environment together to use role-plays, video clip demonstrations, and didactic material for clinical discussion and personal exploration.

This 2 day Master Class is for mental health professionals that have completed an EFT Externship.

ACEFT Director Michael Barnett and EFT Trainer Silvina Irwin to speak on Attachment in Action at September AAP Salon

The Link Counseling Center, 348 Mount Vernon Highway, Dunwoody, Georgia 30328

Bring and dish and join us for a potluck meal and the experiential exploration of Attachment in Action

If we believe that self-of- the-therapist is the most important instrument in healing, we place emphasis on using the human relationship to heal. Attachment styles are, in essence, our habitual relational strategies with others that are based upon our historical "record" regarding significant other's responsiveness to us, and the internalized felt-sense of self that emanated within us as a result. Additionally, there may be certain types of clients who are at either end of the attachment style/strategy spectrum that we may have more issues or challenges with than others based upon our own style. This experience is intended to shine a light on better understanding our attachment style strategies, and the ways that we understand ourselves through our relational experience with self and others. Let's explore this together.
