ACEFT Code of Conduct

Community Standards

ACEFT is a vibrant community of professionals dedicated to advancing Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) through training, community inclusion, and collaboration. To protect our shared commitment to advancing EFT in Atlanta, we ask that all members uphold these core values: fostering emotional safety, maintaining professional integrity, and prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Expectations for Conduct

To maintain an environment where all members can learn and thrive, we do not tolerate behavior that undermines our community or causes harm. Prohibited behaviors include:

  • Discrimination and Harassment: Any form of racism, racial discrimination, sexism, gender-based discrimination, heterosexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, classism, religious discrimination, or sexual harassment (including unwanted attention or comments).

  • Hostility and Intimidation: Aggressive verbal conduct, intimidation, stalking, or inappropriate physical contact.

  • Disruption: Frequent or sustained disruption of training activities or misuse of communication channels (e.g., using Zoom for purposes misaligned with learning objectives).

  • Safety Violations: Displaying sexual imagery, unwanted or unapproved photography or recording, disregard for the impact of one's words or behaviors on other participants, violating confidentiality or privacy, or advocating for unsafe behavior.

  • Lack of Collaboration: Inability to work effectively in a group setting, including a refusal to work toward repair or an inability to manage aggressive/disruptive behavior, even with facilitation.

We reserve the right to restrict access to ACEFT events for failure to adhere to these standards. If you have concerns about a member’s conduct, please contact the ACEFT Board of Directors.

By joining ACEFT and participating in our programming, you agree to uphold these standards.
