GAIL PALMER, MSW
Teaches: Externship in EFT, Core Skills Training
Gail is one of the Founding Members of the Ottawa Couple and Family Institute, has her Masters in Social Work and is a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist in Canada. Over the past 20 years, Gail has worked closely with Sue Johnson, co-creator of Emotionally Focused Therapy both at the Ottawa Hospital and in private practice. She has become an experienced trainer in EFT; currently offering core skills training to a number of therapists across Canada and the US. Gail's particular interest is in EFT with families and she delivered the plenary address at the 2006 EFT Summit on families.
Gail wrote the chapter entitled "Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT)" in Becoming an Emotionally Focused Couple Therapist: The Workbook, by Johnson, Tilley, Palmer, Bradley, Furrow, Lee, and Woolley. She also is coauthoring a chapter on EFFT with Don Efron in Innovations in Clinical Practice (in press) and wrote Becoming an Emotionally Focused Couple Therapist (2002) with Sue Johnson for the Journal of Couple and Family Relationships.
She is an Approved Supervisor with the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and is a family therapy professor at the School of Social Work at Carleton University in Ottawa.

MICHAEL BARNETT, MA, Ed.S, LPC
Registered Certified EFT Couple's Therapist, Supervisor and Trainer
Michael is a warm and knowledgeable humanistic therapist and presenter who has been in practice since 1988. He has worked in a multitude of settings over the years, with a wide variety of populations. He primarily works with adults and adolescents. His practice is in North East Atlanta where he offers individual, group, and marriage & couples therapy, as well as supervision and training for other therapists. Michael has trained with Dr. Susan Johnson and her colleagues since 2004 and is now a registered certified EFT Supervisor and Trainer.
